We know keeping children entertained is a full-time job in itself, so here at the O2 Centre we'll do everything we can to help!
We are working with Barnardo's to put the fun into the school holidays this year. We have a packed programme of activities in store to keep the kids entertained over the long summer break, from Storytelling, teddy bear picnics, science workshop, face painting and lots more. 100% of funds raised at our Summer events will go to Barnardo's children charity which aims to enhance the lives of children across the country.
Here’s our fun packed programme for the Summer – we look forward to seeing you. FInd all the action at the event space next to Waterstones.
Teddy Bear's Picnic - Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th July, 11am – 4pm
If you go down to The O2 Centre, you’ll be in for a big surprise! The Level One event space will be transformed into a teddy bear’s woods for two days. So bring your little one (and their teddy bear) for a day of cookie decorating, picnics and storytelling. The gang will also be joined by the Barnardo’s teddy bear for pictures, and you’ll be able to purchase a Barnardo’s teddy of your very own for a charitable donation of £3.
The Summer Fair - Thursday 3rd August – Sunday 6th August, 11am – 5pm
Roll up, roll up, The O2 Centre’s Summer Fair has come to town! With classics such as beat the buzzer and hook-a-duck, as well as free face painting, popcorn, candyfloss and incredible prizes, this is an event not be missed.
Bee Awareness Event - Saturday 12th August, 12 – 4pm
Keep busy buzzing away this summer learning about bees! The O2 Centre will be joined by a bee keeper and their hive to chat to you all about bees in order to raise money so that teenagers can be trained as future beekeepers. You’ll be able to learn all about how honey is produced, how bees are cared for, and random facts such as, did you know that each colony smells different to bees, this is so they can tell where they live?!
Science Workshops - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August, 11am – 4pm
Bring your little scientist along to The O2 Centre for their chance to dress up as a scientist and conduct enthralling experiments! Children will be able to create expanding foam, slime and take part in the jelly bean taste test. All experiments will be done using households items so you can replicate them at home.
