This summer, the O2 Centre will host a technology donation bin for its shoppers to donate their outdated and disused laptops, phones and computers for rehoming to the elderly, refugee children and those in accommodation services.
Partnering with SocialBox.Biz, a social enterprise on a mission to curb digital exclusion, the donation bin will be located in the O2 Centre Management office (located on Level 2 in the centre opposite YO! Sushi. Charities supported in the scheme include Charities supported in the scheme include Thames Reach Charity and Age UK London.
We believe SocialBox.Biz have some really great initiatives that help the elderly and those who need support in the London area so the team and I were thrilled to host the donation bin in the centre. We hope that when our customers look to get hold of their next gadget they consider donating their old ones to help someone in need!”
SocialBox.Biz has launched a laptops for the homeless and elderly initiative a few years ago, and as of this month, has included refugee children into their handover program. The London social venture partners with Thames Reach to ensure the collected laptops are placed with homeless individuals moving in accommodation services
